Common FAQs
Each of our credential programs have different specific requirements but the same goal of ensuring participants complete courses built from the foundations of public service leadership and county governance. Each course offers practical applications and “take home” values through interactive, adult-centered instructional approaches that encourage interaction with peers and shared learning.
Our Executive Credential Program requires completion of 10 CSAC courses. Our Technology Credential requires completion of 5 CCISDA courses and 5 CSAC Courses. Our HR Executive Program requires completion of the HR Executive Institute four-day in-person residency program, and 3 CSAC course electives. All attendees automatically receive credit towards their credential program for every class completed.
Within our Executive Credential Program, you can take any 10 courses to fulfill your Executive Credential. These courses may be taken on-site or virtually.
For our Technology Executive Credential Program, you may take any 5 CSAC Courses to meet the Leadership requirement, and any 5 CCISDA Courses to meet the Technology Requirement. At least 6 CCISDA courses are offered virtually each term, CSAC courses may be taken virtually or on-site.
Our HR Executive Program requirements consist of a four-day in-person residency program, and a three-course elective requirement. Participants in this program may take any 3 CSAC courses to fulfill this requirement.
For participants in multiple programs one course can only count towards one credential program at a time.
We encourage CSAC Institute participants to complete their credential requirements within one calendar year.

Our credentials do not have an expiration date, nor do they need to be renewed.
Make-up courses may be taken on-line or virtually. You do not have to take the same course you have missed. If you know that you’ll be missing a course, please notify our Training Program coordinator at femmert-sanchez@counties.org.

So long as a cancellation is made at least 7 days in advance of the class date, the registrant is entitled to a full refund, minus a $20 processing fee. Cancellations within 7 days of the course are not eligible for refunds.
If the participant has already paid for the course, they have the option of applying the credit to a future course. in lieu of being charged the $20 processing fee.
The participant must register for a course with the applied credit within 120 days. If the credit is not used in that time, the credit will be refunded to the original payment method minus a $20 processing fee.
A registrant can cancel out of a class at any time, but the above refund policy applies.
If someone who is registered for a course is unable to attend, they may send someone from the same county in their place. Advanced notice of substitution is not required.
